Would you like to improve your self-confidence, connect with others and learn new skills?

Our course starts 9th of January 2023 and will be for six sessions at Upper Moreton Farm to be held every Monday from 10am until 3pm.

Available to people 19 years + living in Stafford and Cannock Chase and surrounding areas, for individuals with low self-esteem, mental wellbeing issues, a learning difficulty or physical disability. No prior knowledge or qualifications required. You must be willing to commit to 30 hours of learning and activities.

Funded by Staffordshire County Council – All courses are FREE with support with transport included.

Below are just a few activities you will be doing on your course:

  • Discover the hedgerows in winter and the wildlife they support
  • Wintertime gardening – learn about what can be grown
  • Animal care – learn how to care for donkeys, horses, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hens
  • Carry out some country crafts and woodwork projects that can help our wildlife or enhance an outdoor space
  • Living well for less – follow some wartime recipes to stay healthy, eat sustainable seasonal produce and save money
  • Explore the countryside – Nature’s Calendar at Upper Moreton Farm and the wildlife areas at Carney Pools
  • Create a seasonal flower arrangement using natural materials and flowers that bloom this time of year
  • A visit to a place of interest
  • Experience the Five Ways to Wellbeing, incorporating mindfulness, taking notice of the countryside through nature walks
  • Learn how to stay safe online and you will be invited to share your learning experiences through the Upper Moreton Rural Activities Community Learning Facebook page
