Who are your programmes for? General

The Building Better Opportunities programmes are for people living in Stafford and South Staffordshire who are not currently in work and who face multiple barriers in finding suitable employment. This includes:

  • Individuals over 50 years old.
  • Single parents.
  • People with low skills or qualifications.
  • People with long term health conditions or disabilities.
  • Those from an ethnic minority group.
  • Those living in ‘low employment demand’ areas.
  • Those who experience homelessness, substance misuse, history of offending or mental ill health.

Put simply,  the Building Better Opportunities programme aims to help individuals overcome barriers such as these and access support that will help them take advantage of more opportunities for education, training, improved health, wellbeing services, financial help and more.

A Programme Built For Your Personal Needs

Regardless of the reasons why you aren’t in work at the moment (childcare issues, financial problems, reliance on benefits, low confidence, etc) our aim is to support you in your development and personal goals.

This looks different for everyone. And we aren’t here to force you into work you don’t want to do. Your personal advocate will work with you one-on-one, to understand your past experiences, current situation, finances and health and wellbeing. From there, together you put together a personal development plan that works for you.

A Friendly Face You Can Trust

Your personal advocate is trained to be a champion of your needs, health and wellbeing. We won’t push into doing something you’re not ready for or confident in doing. But we will help you access support in becoming more confident and experienced in your chosen areas.
